The meaning of this life is often a mystery to those who choose to not see this world through the lens of scripture. A constant chasing after things that hold no eternal value is the way this world will teach you to live.
The calling to live in this world but not of this world (John 17:16), brings to new light the life we are created for. Although this world tries to ostracize those who live and act different, we must develop the understanding that we are ‘foreigners’ (Hebrews 11:13-16) and our home is Heaven.
As a ‘Citizen of Heaven’ our identity, values, and allegiance are to the One that created us and the place we will inevitably return. As the Body of Christ, we have the beautiful opportunity to be the bridge between this world and the One who created it.
We are created to go against the grain, to swim upstream, to run against the flow of the crowd. To live a life of boldness, to seek and save those getting lost in the empty desires this world promotes.
Our time on earth is temporary. Stand out and stand firm.
“But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ.” Philippians 3:20
